How do you warm up?
Drinking water is good, keeps you hydrated I'd drink quite a lot a bit before I recorded, give it a rest warm up then during the session drink a bit.
There goes my plans... caffiene is my life. xD
You mean we're supposed to warm up? Oh man, Fail.

I've never heard of you either.
I wouldn't even try doing the shhhh and drinking water to be a good mix. Why coming up with that idea? >_>
Drinking water is fine, but probably drinking some tea mixed with honey might have done a better job. I tried once, it turned out okay when I audition some lines.

lol really? I had no idea I was doing the shhhh, then drinking water mid-session. Id also say avoid drinking caffinated drinks before recording.
I just did a stupid mistake. I mixed drinking water and then doing the "sssh" which cancelled each other out XD. After that though I did try just drinking water and I did notice a difference. Think I'll keep to the water.

Well as I say lots of water, also search on this site I did link a few good videos on this a while back. Also check your library for " The Art of Voice acting" which has some good tips. The main thing to learn is to have your voice come from the diaphram.
Thanks for the tip. Any suggestions?
Yeah I'd really recommend you do something, especially when performing at the edge of your range. You should also drink lots of water.
Weird... I don't have a warm up technique. I just go for it. It's probably going to do my voice in if I keep that up.
I started doing the shhhhh thing too, though ti really takes it out of me.
I'd also add to this list that drinknig lots of water helps too.
I've studied drama so I do the whole A,E,I,O,U thing and sing some gibberish and hold some notes to warm up.
Some very unique styles I learnt was this:
1) Just so the "Shhhh!" sound as loud as you can. Dunno why...
2) Lip "Brrr"ings at different key notes.
3) "La-Ga" sounds at different key notes.
That's what I just found out. >_>
Mi mi mi mEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I drink water and have never used vocal excercises. I just tend to do a bit of singing on rock band between the low Metallica songs and the higher REM tunes.
Works wonders and gets you in range. Oh, and just before I start, I have a double measure glass of some kind of spirit, usually rum. If you're old enough it get's the relaxation back in your voice and takes away some possible inhibitions.
Just my thoughts.
